Mt Holyoke Conference on State-Building

On October 13-16, there will be a very cool conference at Mt Holyoke on state-building, with a focus on the lessons of the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq. As some of you might recall, this is the home institution of Jon Western, who spoke at a research luncheon here last spring, and he and Dr. McMahon are amongst the key organizers of this conference.  The line-up of speakers is very impressive, and it would be a great conference for those of you interested in how academia interacts with practitioners in the areas of comparative politics.
